This service is performed using a microneedling cartridge as well as a single needle cosmetic tattoo technique specifically for scar revision. This will be determined in the treatment day at the technicians discretion.

Microneedling is a quick and non-invasive cosmetic procedure with minimal side effects. However, it’s quite normal to experience the following:

A sunburn-like effect is normal. Your skin may feel tight, dry or sensitive to touch. Treat the skin gently by washing it with a gentle cleanser, cool water, and using only your hands to pat dry no earlier than 4 hours after treatment.

Some redness may also be present and in some cases, patients may experience slight bruising that can last for 5-7 days and temporary swelling for 2-4 days.

Tips

• Avoid strenuous exercises that cause sweating as well as jacuzzis, saunas, and steam baths for up to 48 hours.
• Use only mineral makeup after 24 hours.
• Sleep on your back with a fresh pillowcase to avoid any potential contamination from bacteria.

Peeling may start 3-5 days after the treatment. You’ll notice skin dryness and flaking which is due to an increased turnover of skin cells. DO NOT pick, scratch, or scrub at treated skin!

Important information: You must allow the old skin to flake off naturally and keep it moisturized at all times. Talk to your skin specialist about which products to use.

You may start your regular skin care products again, once your skin no longer feels irritated. Most of our patients have noticed continued skin improvement over the months following their last treatment.

For best results: We recommend follow-up and repeat microneedling treatments every 4-6 weeks, with a series of 3-5 treatments depending on your personalized care plan.

What is Automated Micro-Needling?
Automated micro-needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy) is a new innovation in aesthetic medicine for treating the appearance of fine lines, acne scars and improvement of the skin’s overall appearance. During this procedure, a Pen-like device is used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin. Automated micro-needling also creates superficial micro-channels through which topical gels, creams and serums can be penetrated deeper into the dermis to help improve the appearance of the skin. Please ask about boosters available.

What are the benefits?
Micro-needling can significantly reduce and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation, acne scars, traumatic scars and stretch marks 

What areas can be treated?
Microneedling can be done on all parts of the body, including the: face including upper and lower eye area, neck, décolleté, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back.

How is the procedure done?
Initially, your skin care professional will apply topical numbing cream the skin and ensure a comfortable and pain-free treatment. Then, a thin layer of topical hyaluronic plus your booster  is applied and the pen is gently pressed against the skin while simultaneously gliding in one direction until the entire treatment area has been covered. We ensure full coverage by using a specific proven grid pattern and do three passes at minimum per section. A soothing balm will be applied as well as SPF.

How long does the procedure take?
The procedure takes 45 minutes to an hour depending on the size of the area treated. This time included numbing. 

What is the downtime?
Immediately after the treatment you will notice a bright redness to the skin. The total healing time depends on the  setting used and the number of overlapping passes your skin care professional performs. On average, patients are red up to 2 to 4 days but it is mostly undetectable to others and can often look like you just got some sun. 

When will I see results?
Patients notice an immediate “glow” to their skin. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several days and weeks. Results can continue to improve up to 6 months after a treatment as collagen production continues.

How many treatments will I need?
It is recommended for most patients to receive a series of 3-4 treatments spaced about 6-8 weeks apart. For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks or acne scars it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 6-week intervals.
